Despite the New Galaxy AI, Bixby Will Continue to Exist within One UI

We all know for a fact that on-device AI is going to be the next big thing starting next year, and based on all the information that we have received, it is going to be impressive. Samsung will also be unveiling its own AI model, and so far, we have heard of various capabilities of this AI model. Today, we finally know that it is going to be called Galaxy AI, and it will make its first debut on the Galaxy S24 series. From there, we will see it becoming available on other Samsung phones, as well.

Galaxy AI will make its debut on the flagship Galaxy S24 series and will then make its way to other devices

The name Galaxy AI does not really bring an element of surprise, and honestly, I am not really sad about it, either. Samsung's Galaxy lineup is a household name, so changing the name of the AI to something else would not make as much sense as some people would think. Sure, there could be several features within the model, each with its distinct name, but as far as the model's name is concerned, it is perfect.

The source also claims that Samsung alone is not responsible for the conception of Galaxy AI, as there has been an open collaboration with several industry leaders, which certainly is a good thing because, at the end of the day, consumers are looking for a seamless experience instead of looking at the companies that were involved in the development of a product.

Based on the information that we have so far, Galaxy AI will provide real-time translations of calls in different languages. There are also some other features that it will bring to the table, like image generation and the basic text-based work that other AI models are capable of handling. We will keep you updated when we find more information on the subject.

Do you think on-device AI models are something that we are really in need of, or should the smartphone industry shift its focus elsewhere? Let us know what your opinions are in the comments below. Especially now that Google has introduced its Gemini AI model, as well.
